  They didn’t have self service back then, the price is to high for the fuel, they didn’t have premium- they had ethyl fuel, and the houses and cars in the background are to modern

    I don’t think it’s from 1948. Maybe 1978 as that looks like the Dukes of Hazard “General” Charger. I don’t think TAB Soda came around until the 60’s and the cars in the background look too modern for 48. But was Regular Gas under a buck in the late 70’s?

In the mean time, take a guess at the pictured engine. Engine OEM and what sled did it belong to.

      Saw one at Waconia a few years back. Owner started it up for us. Crazy loud, four straight pipes through the pan. He had to put a piece of plywood to keep it from blowing dust everywhere.

  In light of the fact that the Polar Bear is in the North Pole, it would not come across Penguins as they are exclusively in the Southern Hemisphere. IF a Polar Bear came across a Penguin, it would likely be Hor d’oeuvres.

    That’s just the kind of guy Gary is. The one in Montrose, MN is still for sale and everyday I fight the urge to buy it and pick it up when I head to the Cities at the end of the month. I have no use for it but I think I know someone who does.

      Part of the fun is the suspense in looking. Just spent 3 years looking for a turntable from the early 70’s I had. Same thing, always a state or two away.       Agree, it’s a great feeling when something you’ve been searching for pops up where you can get to it and at your price. I’m currently casually monitoring the market for a 76 – 78 Cyclone/Liquifire but it would have to meet the mentioned conditions for me to bite.       I think there might be a ew433 about 90 miles from me. Just two photos in the ad. Out of focus on the back tunnel to see if it is a “c”. Asked the dude what model it is and he sent a 10 second video front to back but no way to see the model number on the tunnel. He said need to snatch it up quick, someone coming today. He says it is a 1997 Yamaha 🤦
