  • I’m not one to brag but here’s a chance for me to give a shout-out to a Nephew of mine who did something pretty darn cool for Homecoming this year. Click on the link for the story…

  • It’s 1948 and among other things, Grandma’s looking like a real Hottie at athe Gas Station!

    • The car is to new

    • They didn’t have self service back then, the price is to high for the fuel, they didn’t have premium- they had ethyl fuel, and the houses and cars in the background are to modern

      • I don’t think it’s from 1948. Maybe 1978 as that looks like the Dukes of Hazard “General” Charger. I don’t think TAB Soda came around until the 60’s and the cars in the background look too modern for 48. But was Regular Gas under a buck in the late 70’s?

    • Well, it’s definitely not grandma. She’d look right at home in 1948, or 1958, 1968, 1978……

    • Polar bears inhabit the Arctic, a region surrounding the North Pole. The Arctic is essentially an ocean covered in drifting ice sheets, bordered by landmasses like Canada, Russia, Greenland, and Scandinavia.
Penguins, on the other hand, are found exclusively in the Southern Hemisphere, primarily in Antarctica, with several species extending to…Read More

    • In light of the fact that the Polar Bear is in the North Pole, it would not come across Penguins as they are exclusively in the Southern Hemisphere. IF a Polar Bear came across a Penguin, it would likely be Hor d’oeuvres. 😁

  • Does anyone have any recommendation through personal experience for lodging in Price County Wisconsin? around Park Falls or surrounding communities? with snowmobile trail access, a restaurant/bar on location or very close by and again snowmobile accessible? looking for either a Hotel/resort type stay where one could book a few rooms. Thank you

    • I’ve stayed at the Super 8 in Phillips many times. The trails run right through their large parking lot. Phillips in general is one of the most “snowmobile friendly” towns I’ve experienced. Excellent grooming in their area and well marked trails leading in all directions. Seriously, that’s an area that deserves 5 Stars for snowmobilers! Here’s a…Read More

  • John Deere will now be producing Yamaha UTVs. Sounds like an interesting combination to me. I know it’s not in the plans for now, but I kinda like the idea of my Wolverine in Deere colors.

    • Traffic light has no red light, crosswalk well passed the light, wheels in the bus look like they belong on a trolley, December 32nd on the sign

      • As they say, “Close but …..” Notice the Overhead Cables, it’s an Electric Trolley with No Door and No Tracks. The Traffic Light and Date on the Sign are Spot On.

Hello, on this First Day of Autumn. Cooler temps greet us each mornng now and I’m good with that. I’m quite sure we’ll have some Indian Summer yet but we’ve flipped another page on the calender and that’s one page closer to Winter.

    • Birchwood Wisconsin maybe about 1971? Parents let my brother and I rent a Homelite snowmobile by the cabin. So narrow and tippy I kept rolling over trying to ride the side of the road. Hooked for life!

    • I guess it wasn’t the first ride experience that most people think of. I got my prized possession (a 68 Johnson Skee Horse) that I bought in pieces back together and I put it through its paces on the stubble of a combined oats field. It was probably 80 degrees at the time but it went pretty good on the slippery straw and if I closed my eyes I…Read More

    • 1980 Yamaha Enticer. I don’t recall much about the sled, but the bellypan was a ONE-WAY sign that was riveted on due to the original rusting out or falling apart. I remember that being a pretty cool part of opening the hood.

      • Then I upgraded to my Yamaha SnoScoot. Kick start. Everyone wanted to take a lap on that thing. Very fun sled as a kid.

  • My new rear bumper for the 2026 Kawasaki Ridge Platinum Ranch Edition. For some reason it didn’t come with one. Chose this heavy duty beast with LED lights in it. The bumper is a product of Extreme Metal Products-EMP. Thank you to Chad and his service department at M&M Powersports for their top notch service.

    • Nice setup, looks like it’s ready for winter. Could be another record breaker.

    • Funny thing Kelly and Mezz, we have been having “super El Nino” year pounded into our minds lately yet when you look at other weather outlets they are too predicting the “super El Nino” but their prediction effects are all over the place, some doom and gloom and some are very hopeful. As I’ve said before they have a hard enough time with 24 hour…Read More

      • You’re right, being pounded with the doom & gloom. Though I will say, after having been through the 2nd snowiest winter on record last year, I am not wanting a repeat performance. It is way too early to tell what this winter will bring despite the numerous model runs. One thing for certain is a very strong El Nino will be in play, it’s just a…Read More

        • Mezz, kinda selfish or me I do apologize, I couldn’t even imagine what it must be like residing there and I’m not going to lie but I don’t take that into consideration when I hope for a hell of a winter in the north woods as I am only thinking of the riding. I also plow snow here in my neck of the woods, been doing it for close to 30 years and…Read More

          • No need to apologize, I hope you have a hell of a winter. As you know, your hell of a winter and ours here in the Keweenaw are 2 different animals. I can’t move like I use to & it is a challenge to deal with shoveling, blowing & plowing twice a day. The plowing is the easiest part but as you know, time consuming. I plow for myself & a couple of…Read More
