Since were still fighting the dolldrums of the summer months on a Snowmobile Website, here’s what were talking about today…

Believe it or not, my first ride was in the middle of summer which requires a little background. I grew up on a Dairy Farm in Wisconsin. Lots of cows, lots of open fields, etc. One of the owners of a local construction company had a side-hustle selling snowmobiles. He came around that summer with a demo that you could take a ride across the hay fields. Gosh, I wish I had pictures or video of that. Anyway, what a rush for a kid about 12 years old! That kid didn’t stop yapping about snowmobiles until Dad had one delivered on Christmas Eve of that year. A 19 horse Arctic Cat Panther, she was slow but steady and that kid had her worn out by the end of the second winter. I still recall that day bouncing across a hay field on my first snowmobile ride.

My first ride on my first snowmobile was a feeling of freedom & excitement that would not end. I did not want to get off of it & could not wait till the next day to get back on it. Good times, great memories. 😎😁

My first sled was a 1972 Bolens Sprint, had a walboro WF carburetor on it, one of the pickiest carburetors to this day I have ever dealt with, worked on sled almost as much as a rode it, which inevitably led to and took me into my career path. Many good memories still, was first kid in the hood with my own sled. Moved on to a 1974 Polaris 440 Elektra which opened up whole new world of being able to ride without much mechanical work, the rest is history. Been riding since I was old enough to sit on the back of my dads sled and never looked back.
